DPR Racing and 'Castle Doom'

IMG_0314

In the three years I have been racing, Castle Combe has always been a firm favourite of mine. Although it is warmly referred to as ‘Castle Doom’ to many drivers, I have always produced good racing results. On our side was the fact that the ‘Open Cars’ weren’t out with us for this round. The track is very bumpy and uneven, so thankfully we only had the ‘Club Cars’ to contend with.

Brands Hatch Indy Saturday August 16th 2008

With Brands Hatch as our next port of call we were all wondering, ‘what could possibly go wrong this time!’

With both feet on the mend and the car in great condition, these thoughts from three weeks ago have been well and truly put behind us, so we’re hoping for an end to ‘Brands-bad-luck’ and a 1st place race win.

Silverstone Classic

porsche open start

So here we are back after 6 weeks (through injured left foot and car problems) looking very much forward to the Silverstone classic event. We have worked long hours to get the car back to race condition and proud to have achieved that ready for such an historic meeting.

But alas, on Friday morning before qualifying while at work, the suspension on a Freelander gave way and trapped my right foot managing to break my big toe in two places. De ja vu or what!

Qualifying

Oulton Park 2008 - Disaster strikes

DPR Racing Oulton Park April 19th 2008 (62)

Second race weekend of the season, Oulton Park, a circuit I enjoy, hoping to put a good result forward in the Championship. Again, not the best of weather, bitterly cold but with a dry track all looks well. All the other competitors in my class had the upper hand having had the chance to test here on Friday, ‘’Oh well some of us have to work!’’

Qualification

Donington Park 2008 - Here we go again

Donnington Park 24th March 2008 (16)

So here we are again the start of a new season, it doesn’t seem like we had 6 months off. After such a successful season last year (finishing 2nd in class) we start this season with only one place in mind, 1st in class!!!

Our first port of call is Donington Park, which is one of our home circuits. The weather is not so good with the recent downfall of snow but it clears in time for the race meeting. It’s bitterly cold but despite this, all the team support are with us.
