Dave is a Project Engineer on ‘interior trim’ and a management professional within the automotive industry, starting at MG Rover, then moving on to Aston Martin, and now working for Jaguar and Land Rover.
Dave has been a keen follower of all motorsports for a number of years. He has competed in several motor sport events with an avid association in the Porsche Owners Club and Porsche Club Motorsport, He has competed in The Michelin Porsche Championship since 2007, and in that year he finished the Championship with a second in class win, and a sixth overall.
Racing started for him back at the Porsche Club festival of 2005 at Brands Hatch. The PCGB was there for the race weekend and while watching the racing, Dave got hooked and that was when the ‘racing bug’ started.
He obtained his national B race licence back in February 2006. Dave’s first ever season was with the Porsche Club Open Series in 2006 competing in a race prepared 944 in Class 4. His first season was to be the start of a rapid learning curve which started off well, achieving a number of podium finishes. Sadly, the season ended abruptly during 2006, when the car was rolled at Cadwell Park. Down, but not out, Dave decided that during the winter months he would build a new car from scratch, to run in the 2007 Championship.
In the same year, Dave also set up his own company: DPR Racing Limited in April 2007.
2008 sees Dave competing again in the Championship with his 944 in Class 3 where his intention is to improve year on year. Dave’s ultimate goal is to win the Porsche Championship outright, doing whatever it takes to achieve this.
